I’ve been baking GOODIES for 11 years. It all started with a bit of inspiration from a TV show. I thought cupcakes-in-a-jar were so cute :) I had my son in 2014 and for some reason thought - this is the time to start a business! … one month after his birth.. lol
Time went on, and, eventually Letasha’s GOODIES had a couple store fronts. Then, life took me on a different path and I became a technical writer; but baking was always a fun side hustle. There’s just something about making these jars that makes me feel so happy - so here I am; spreading my joy through delicious desserts <3
Creating the flavours is always so much fun to me. They change alongside the seasons, making Letasha’s GOODIES pretty festive :) (like I am! haha)
The cupcake recipe is vegan and was passed along from my great grandmother, to my grandmother, then my mom who passed it down to me - so that feels pretty special. (I do have a vegan “buttercream” that’s available, depending on the size of the order).
The buttercream is exactly that, butter and heavy cream, with icing sugar and vanilla of course! I tend to make it very buttery to balance the sweetness of the toppings like raspberry jam, caramel, chocolate toffee bits, etc. And in some cases, some flavours call for some cream cheese icing - like red velvet or orange chai lovely!
All the sauces and jams are homemade - store bought items are (well, the ingredients lol) and the candies/chocolates that are used; like cake sprinkles, chocolate peanut butter cups, chocolate toffee bars, chocolate hazelnut pieces, etc and, of course, the mason jars hehe
Why mason jars? Well I’ve always thought they were cute AF annnnnd I love the idea that they are reusable - which is why I came up with a return your jar program!
